Jean Finkleman was born in Silver Spring, Maryland and has always had an interest in creating art. She worked as a Crime Analyst with the Montgomery County Police department and retired after 31 years. Jean also worked with her husband teaching fencing at their club in NW, DC, the Chevy Chase Fencing Club.
Having always dabbled in various crafting projects, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint and cross-stitch Jean finds creating to be relaxing. One evening in 2015 she attended a “Paint Night” event and was once again captivated with panting.
After several paint nights, she decided to try it on her own and began taking on-line painting classes and group classes at the Art Barn in Gaithersburg and The Compass Atelier in Rockville. She is delighted that her paintings have been juried into local shows and many have been sold.
Jean is a member of the Art League of Germantown, Montgomery Arts Association, and the Maryland Federation of Art.
